Completed in 1999, Houde Building serves as the main administrative office for Xili Campus (Xili LakeArea). The name“Houde”comes from theBook of Changes (I Ching):“The earth is vast and receptive; the superior person carries all things with great virtue(Kun hexagram).”. It resonates with Zhengde Road in front of the building, closely reflecting the University’s motto: “Advance in Virtue” The building has a U-shape design within an enclosed courtyard. A clock tower at the top not only indicates time, but also reminds one to cherish every moment. A modern industrial exterior of white-and-blue color scheme, echoing the University’s philosophy of integrating industry and education. Its colors complement the Rixin Building, presenting a clean, dignified atmosphere, and conveys a spirit of pragmatism and progress.
